DuPage Guardian Ad Litem Training This Month - A Guardian Ad Litem two-day, live training will take place in the Auditorium of the DuPage County Administration Building at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton on Friday, November 15, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Registration 11:30 a.m.) and Saturday, November 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Registration 7:30 a.m.) By attending both sessions, you will earn 10 hours of CLE credit (8 Hours MCLE, 2 Hours PRMCLE). Attendance at both sessions is required to stay on the approved GAL list for Domestic Relations. This program features seasoned DuPage GAL’s, mental health professionals, and the judges of the 18th Judicial Circuit Domestic Relations Division addressing highly specialized materials. It will not be offered again until 2022, so register today through the DCBA website.

Veterans Service Luncheon and MCLE - The DuPage County Bar Association and the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers invite you to join them at noon, November 8, in the Attorney Resource Center for this annual program dedicated to educating lawyers to better serve the legal needs of our nation's veterans. A complimentary lunch will be served, followed by two hours of CLE courtesy of DCBA and DAWL. This event ismade possible through the generous support of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). Contributions to support the work of the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans are encouraged and can be brought to the event. Please register through the DCBA website as seating is limited.

Inaugural Grand Holiday Gala -Tickets are now available for the DAWL / DCBA / Justinian Grand Holiday Gala taking place December 12, 2019 at Harry Caray's in Lombard. For the first time, all three organizations are coming together for one Holiday Event that will be the highlight of the season for the legal community. Chief Judge Announces Associate Vacancy - Authorization pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 39 has been received by the Chief Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit to post a notice of vacancy for associate judge. The vacancy is a result of the resignation of Associate Judge Peter W. Ostling, effective November 30, 2019. Applications are now being accepted for this vacancy, which will be filled by vote of the Circuit Judges of the 18th Judicial Circuit. The deadline for application is December 2.
