CHIEF JUDGE ANNOUNCES TWO FINALISTS FOR ASSOCIATE JUDGE VACANCY

Chief Circuit Judge Daniel P. Guerin is pleased to announce that following a September 6, 2018 meeting of the Circuit Judges of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court, two finalists for the Office of Associate Judge have been selected and certified to the Illinois Supreme Court. The finalists are seeking to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of John W. Demling effective August 1, 2018. From these names, the Circuit Judges will select one appointee.


David E. Schwartz, J.D.-College of Law, DePaul University, Chicago, IL 1983; admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, 1983. Mr. Schwartz is a Partner at the firm of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago, IL (1990-present). Prior to that, Mr. Schwartz was a Partner at Soffietti, Johnson, Teegen, Phillips & Schwartz in Fox Lake, IL (1984-1990) and an Associate with Tameling & Associates in Hinsdale, IL (1983-1984). Mr. Schwartz is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Federal Trial Bar.


George A. Ford, JD – Valparaiso University Law School, Valparaiso, IN 2004; admitted to the practice of law in Illinois, 2004. Mr. Ford is the Deputy Chief of the DuPage County Public Defender’s Office in Wheaton, IL (2005-present). Prior to that, Mr. Ford was an Associate with Mitchell, Bolden, Melton in Joliet, IL (2004-2005). Mr. Ford is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and DuPage County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
