Attorney Memberships: include Government, Retired, Faculty, New Admittees. Choose the specific category that applies below.  Note:  Attorneys licensed to practice less than one year (in any state) should choose the New Admittee membership to receive complimentary membership for your 1st 12 months as an attorney.

Legal Community Members: Any non-attorney who is integrally involved in the legal community as a paralegal, legal assistant, law firm administrator, legal secretary, court manager or other court staff.  Legal Community Members are not eligible to vote and/or run for the Board of Directors.  Upon payment of dues, Legal Community Members may be appointed as a committee chair.

Affiliate Members:  Any other person who is not admitted to practice law and does not qualify for membership under other categories may apply and become an Affiliate Member, as determined by the Board of Directors in its sole discretion.  Affiliate Members are typically individuals associated with firms or businesses that provide services to the legal community.  Affiliate Members are not eligible to vote and/or run for the Board of Directors nor are they eligible to be appointed as a committee chair.

Student Memberships: Anyone currently enrolled in any accredited law school or paralegal program.  Membership is free, or you may include a subscription to the DCBA Brief magazine for $25 (electronic version is included in membership). 

Docket Only Membership: Docket Only membership is for Law Office Staff who wish to receive the weekly e-newsletter, the Docket only for informational purposes.  No other membership benefits accrue to this member type.  For full member benefits, a Legal Community membership should be considered.

Guest Membership: Attorneys who are not DCBA members but wish to purchase an on demand seminar are required to register as a Guest, creating a user name and password that will allow you to access our online seminar library. Once registered, you may purchase future on demand offerings using the same login credentials.
