Family Law and Practice MCLE Meeting

 

 

Speakers: Dr. Samantha Orbach, Children's Research Triangle

Topic: 
This presentation will provide information about the ways in which environmental and relational trauma impacts the brain and consequential behavior. This not only impacts individual behavior, but the ways in which the individuals relate to others around them, significantly impacting relationships, functioning at school, work, and all facets of life. Learn how greater awareness of this neurobiological impact and a shift in the lens used to view clients can make important changes. 

 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand general brain development
  • Understand neurobiological consequences of environmental and relational trauma
  • Gain insight into children’s and families’ behavioral presentation through a trauma lens/lens of neurobiological impact.

 

Time: 11:45 am to 1:00 pm - Case law updates will not be presented at this meeting. Dr. Orbach's presentation will begin at 11:45 

 

Location: Attorney Resource Center (Third Floor of the DuPage Judicial Center)

 

Credits: 1.25 Credit MCLE

 

There will be free Family Law Software Training for Members on Tuesday 12/18 at the ARC at 10:30 am.
