Summary of Topic:  Employment agreements are an excellent opportunity for lawyers to add value for their clients and prevent future misunderstandings. They also have their pitfalls. This presentation will discuss best practices when it comes to: termination provisions (For Cause and Good Reason), severance provisions, restrictive covenant provisions, arbitration provisions, the protection of intellectual property, tax issues and more. 


What You Will Learn by Attending This Presentation:


1. How to draft an employment agreement that complies with Illinois Workplace Transparency Act.

2. How to draft restrictive covenants that are enforceable and in compliance with Fifield and its interpretive case law.

3. How certain employers use employment contracts to protect intellectual property.

4. Those provisions of employment agreements that are most often litigated.
