Immigration Law MCLE Meeting

Speaker: Rocio S. Becerril - Law Office of RSB Ltd

Summary: Come learn about what rights people have, what happens once they are detained by ICE, and what they can do beforehand to protect themselves and their family members. There are several new laws that were passed in Illinois to protect our youth immigrants, including the extension of the short-term guardianship in case parents are detained by ICE and are unavailable.

What You Will Learn By Attending This Presentation:

1. What rights undocumented immigrants have if ICE knocks on their door

2. How to advise your clients if ICE knocks on their door and they do not have a search warrant

3. What happens once someone is detained by ICE and how to find them

4. What steps they can take in advance to protect themselves and their families
