Speaker: Adrienne M. Levatino, Associate General Counsel of the Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)   


Topic: This presentation will describe the work of the Illinois Condominium and Common Interest Community Ombudsperson. Their mission is to educate and publish information for unit owners, associations and their respective boards. They respond to relevant inquires by providing education materials and directing citizens to relevant resources. It will also focus on the rights and responsibilities of condominium unit owners and association boards under relevant Illinois statutes and case law.


Learning Objectives:

1.) Provide an overview of the Illinois Condominium Property Act and the Common Interest Community Association Act as well as the impact of the Illinois General Not for Profit Corporation Act on residential associations.


2.) Present and discuss "real-life" examples of the challenges confronting unit owners and boards and suggested means of resolution.


3.) Provide insight into current "hot topics, " including deconversions and access to condominium and common interest community documents.


As a reminder only DCBA members will receive MCLE credit for this presentation.
