Elder Law MCLE Meeting

Speakers: Colleen Ceh Becvar, Trinity Advocacy Group

Topic: Recreational drug use can lead to drug issues at any age. What does drug addiction look like for older adults? Why are seniors prime candidates for drug abuse? What can you do to help?

          Attendees will learn to:

  1. Differentiate between drug misuse, abuse and addiction.
  2. Identify numerous reasons why seniors are particularly susceptible to drug misuse, abuse and addiction.
  3. Use a simple, best-practice screening tool to create a dialogue with senior clients and their families who are experiencing drug-related issues.
  4. Provide clients with practical, useful interventions if you suspect drug misuse, abuse or addiction are posing an issue for a client.
