Neal W. Cerne of Naperville named "Lawyer of the Year" by the DuPage Bar Association

WHEATON, Ill. - The DuPage County Bar Association presented Neal W. Cerne with its "Lawyer of the Year" award on June 8 in recognition of his many years of distinguished leadership and meritorious service to the bar and legal community.

"Neal Cerne has earned this distinction for his vision and direction in launching the William E. Hooper Attorney Resource Center," said Keith E. "Chuck" Roberts, Jr., outgoing DCBA President. "Over three years, Neal negotiated the lease agreement with the DuPage County Board for the ARC, which is a 3,600 square foot facility on the third floor of the Judicial Center available for use by all lawyers. The ARC is equipped with such amenities as printers, Wi-Fi Internet access, and a coatroom and meeting space, and is used on average by more than 130 lawyers per day."

Neal Cerne is a partner in the Wheaton law firm of Cerne & McSwain, concentrating his practice in family law and real estate law. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, received his MBA from the University of Illinois, and J.D. from Loyola University School of Law. He resides in Naperville with his wife, Beth, and their three children.

Neal Cerne is a Past President of the DuPage County Bar Association, and currently serves as President of the DuPage County Bar Foundation. He chairs the DCBA Judiciary Committee, is past chair of the Lawyer Referral Service, Planning, Business Law, Family Law, Court Facilities & Library, and Media Committees, and represented the association in the ABA House of Delegates.
