"Ask a Lawyer" at No Cost Saturday, April 26

WHEATON, Illinois - Any DuPage County resident with a question about a legal matter can call and talk to an experienced attorney at no cost on Ask a Lawyer Day, Saturday, April 26, 2008. Residents should call (630) 653-7779 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a free consultation with a lawyer volunteer.

The 25th annual Ask a Lawyer Day, part of Law Day activities in Illinois, is sponsored by the DuPage County and Illinois State bar associations. Bar associations in Cook, Kane, Lake and Will Counties will also participate in this service.

Lawyer volunteers will be able to answer general questions about consumer problems, family law, estate planning, personal injury, or any other legal situations affecting individuals. Callers will be advised of steps they can take to resolve their legal problems. If they require legal services, they will be advised to see an attorney. If they do not have a lawyer, they will be referred to the DuPage Lawyer Referral Service at (630) 653-9109.

The DuPage Lawyer Referral Service operates year-round for people in need of legal services who do not have an attorney. Participating lawyers provide an initial consultation of up to 30-minutes at no charge to determine the client's legal needs. Individuals also may utilize the DCBA's online Find a Lawyer service at http://www.dcba.org/publicaccess/PadResults.asp.
