The DuPage County family law firm of Mulyk, Laho & Mack, LLC, located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, is pleased to announce that three attorneys have been recognized as 2016 Super Lawyers. Partner Maria Tolva Mack has been named a Super Lawyer, and Partner Sharon R. Mulyk and Associate Attorney Jennifer S. Burdette have been named Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Mulyk was previously selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2008 and 2015, and this year also marks the second straight Rising Stars recognition for Burdette.
Super Lawyers is a research driven, peer influenced rating service of outstanding attorneys throughout the country. Annually, the top five percent of attorneys from each state are named Super Lawyers based on a high level of peer recognition and professional accomplishment. Attorneys are eligible to be selected as Super Lawyers Rising Stars if they are 40 years old or younger or have been practicing law for 10 or less years. Only 2.5 percent of attorneys in Illinois are named Rising Stars.
Glen Ellyn Family Law Attorney Maria Tolva Mack is a partner at Mulyk, Laho & Mack, LLC. She concentrates her practice in the family area including divorce, child custody, paternity, and post decree petitions. Additionally Mack is experienced in handling DCFS administrative appeals and Juvenile court cases involving parents charged with abuse and neglect. She also has experience in handling residential real estate closings. Mack is a certified Guardian ad Litem and mediator in DuPage County. She was recently selected to serve as Guardian ad Litem for abuse and neglect cases in Dupage County Juvenile court. She was admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States in 2010. She obtained her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, and her B.A. from the University of Illinois. Mack also received a Paralegal Certification from Roosevelt University.
Mack is a “Top Rated Attorney” on AVVO in the practice areas of divorce, family law, and real estate law. She is an active member and past president of the DuPage County Bar Association, having served on various committees and presented at their seminars. Mack is a past president of the Dupage Justinian Society of Lawyers and the Dupage Association of Women Lawyers. Currently she is a member and team captain of the American Inns of Court (Robert E. Jones Chapter in Dupage County). Mack is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Kane County Bar Association.
Glen Ellyn Family Law Attorney Sharon R. Mulyk is a partner at Mulyk, Laho & Mack, LLC. She concentrates her practice in family law and collections matters. Mulyk is a certified Guardian ad Litem and child representative in Dupage County. She is admitted to practice law in both Illinois and Wisconsin, and was also admitted by the Supreme Court of the United States in 2005. Mulyk obtained her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and gradated with a B.A. in Political Science from Illinois State University.
In 2015, the Leading Lawyers Network named Mulyk an “Emerging Lawyer”, and she was also named a “10 Best Attorney” by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. Mulyk is a “Top Rated Attorney” on AVVO in the areas of family law and child custody. She is a past president of the DuPage County Bar Association, where she also served on numerous committees. Glen Ellyn Divorce Attorney Jennifer S. Burdette is an associate attorney at Mulyk, Laho & Mack, LLC. She joined the firm in 2012 and concentrates her practice in family law matters including divorce, post-decree matters, and paternity. She also handles cases related to collections, foreclosures and traffic matters. She obtained her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and she is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Criminal Justice, and the University of Memphis with a degree in Paralegal Studies. She is admitted to practice law by the State of Illinois Supreme Court and the Northern District of Illinois.
Burdette is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association and the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers. She is currently the chair of the Dupage Bar Association’s New Lawyers Committee and the Second Vice President of the DAWL.
