Attorney mediator Brigid A. Duffield, Wheaton, IL, will present a 40 Hour Divorce and Family Mediation Program on April 30 through May 2 and May 14 and 15 at the Illinois Institute for Technology (IIT), Wheaton, Illinois. This professional training program qualifies attorneys and other professionals as trained mediators, broadening their practices and allowing eligibility for listing on court-approved mediation lists while meeting the requirements of collaborative law practice. The 40 Hour Mediation Training is accredited by the Association for Conflict Resolution with 40 credit hours pending MCLE approval for attorneys.
A pioneer in the field of mediation and a key figure in the establishment of the practice of mediation in Illinois, Attorney Duffield specializes in several areas of alternate dispute resolution in addition to mediation, including collaborative law and arbitration. Her philosophy, "Keep the money in the family," seeks to limit the financial and emotional costs to families going through the legal system.
Author of the "No BS Divorce...Secrets of a Divorce Attorney," Duffield is a graduate of John Marshall Law School. Duffield has owned and operated the Law Office of Brigid A. Duffield, P.C., since 1988. Her areas of practice include family law, divorce mediation, collaborative law, divorce arbitration, real estate, probate and probate mediation. For thirty years, Duffield has been a member of the DuPage County Bar Association.
