Applications Now Being Accepted for an Expedited Child Support Administrative Hearing Officer

THE 18th JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IS SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR

AN EXPEDITED CHILD SUPPORT

ADMINISTRATIVE HEARING OFFICER

 

Chief Judge Kathryn E. Creswell is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Hearing Officer for the 18th Judicial Circuit’s Expedited Child Support Program. The Expedited Child Support Enforcement Program is designed to help custodial parents receive their child support determination in an accelerated manner. This is accomplished by a part-time administrative hearing officer making paternity determinations and recommendations in child support cases pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rules 100.1 - 100.13.

 

The hearing officer must be knowledgeable in domestic relations law including paternity determination and will be available for a minimum of three half-day hearing sessions per week for a minimum of 46 weeks per state fiscal year.  The total number of sessions to be conducted in the fiscal year cannot exceed 156.   The state fiscal year runs from July 1 of one year through June 30 of the next year.  Continuation of this contract from one fiscal year to the next is subject to continuation of funding through the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Enforcement. 

 

Compensation is fixed at a one half-day rate of $275.  One half-day is defined as any portion of a morning commencing at or after 8:30 a.m. and normally lasting not longer than 12:00 noon or any portion of an afternoon commencing at 1:30 p.m. and normally lasting not longer than 4:30 p.m.  Sessions shall normally be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Mondays shall normally include a morning and afternoon session.  Wednesdays shall normally include a morning session, except that there may be a limited number of weeks where both a morning and afternoon session could be scheduled.  Compensation paid during the fiscal year cannot exceed $43,000.00.
