Please take notice that a vacancy exists in the Office of Associate Judge. The vacancy is a result of the elevation of Associate Judge Daniel P. Guerin to Circuit Judge.
The Illinois Supreme Court has authorized the Chief Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit to post notice of this vacancy. Any attorney who seeks appointment to the office of associate judge must be a United States citizen, licensed to practice law in this State, and a resident of the unit from which he/she seeks appointment. Applications must be received by the Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts by 5:00 p.m. on or before Thursday, January 14, 2010.
An application form can be obtained from either the Chief Judge's Office or from the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts or from the Supreme Court's website: www.state.il.us/court. Applications may not be submitted electronically or via facsimile.
Applicants are to refrain from contacting any Circuit Judge regarding their candidacy. A Circuit Judge, however, may contact any applicant.

Chief Judge Culliton requests that associate judge applicants provide their e-mail addresses and cell phone numbers to the Chief Judge's Office. This information is currently not requested on the application form, but is helpful to the Chief Judge's Office in processing the applications and communicating with applicants.
Applicants should review the references they list to confirm that all mailing information is current and complete.

Those who wish to be screened by the DuPage County Bar Association Judiciary Committee must submit 21 copies of their applications to the Bar Center (126 S. County Farm Rd, Wheaton, IL 60187) by Monday, January 18. The recommendations for all candidates interviewed by the Judiciary Committee January 14, 2009 and earlier will expire.
