An important message from the DCBA
President, Fred Spitzzeri
Dear Fellow Members,
The 18th Judicial
Circuit Judges recently created an Intermediary Program to serve as a liaison between the
attorneys who practice in DuPage and the judges of the
Circuit.The purpose of this program is to (a) encourage
constructive communication between attorneys and judges;
(b) create a more formal procedure for such
communication; (c) provide a recognized source of
communication between bench and bar; (d) creative an
effective way to address communication grievances; and
(e) enhance professionalism.The Circuit
Judges have appointed three Intermediaries who practice
in Civil Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law who will
receive and deliver any suggestions, criticisms or
complaints from lawyers about judges regarding civility
or timeliness.
The following DCBA members will serve as
Intermediaries in 2008:Civil Law -
Thomas V. O'Connor and alternate -- James F. McCluskey;
Criminal Law - Richard Kayne and alternate:John F. Donahue;
and Family Law - Chuck Roberts and alternate: Lynn

Thank you to the Circuit Judges for
allowing the DuPage County Bar Association's input
into the process.

meeting may qualify for CLE credit if substantive law,
matters of practice, professionalism, diversity issues,
