October 03, 2012

The DuPage Center for Independent Living is a not-for-profit corporation that provides valuable services to the elderly and disabled citizens of DuPage County and is undergoing many changes in its corporate structure and mission.

DCIL is undergoing a significant expansion of their service area into Kane and Kendall counties, this will require changes in their corporate structure and mission.

DCIL is undergoing a significant expansion of our service area into Kane and Kendall counties, and this will require changes in their corporate charter including formal name change, application for trademarks and related legal tasks. They are seeking an attorney with corporate experience who would be willing to assist them on a pro bono or sliding scale basis with this project.

DCIL also seeks to add members to their Board of Directors and would enjoy inviting a member of the DuPage County legal community to sit with them to provide input.  Board meetings are once per month, and information about the mission of the DCIL and instructions for applying to the Board can be found here.

DCIL's charter requires a certain proportion of board members with disabilities.  They welcome any suggestions you may have and they look forward to hearing from our members.
