Turning Point Volunteers Needed

The Turning Point program is in need of volunteers for upcoming sessions.
The Program provides a positive alternative to formal court processing for first-time misdemeanor juvenile offenders. Through structured activities and community service, these programs communicate that choices do have consequences. The program's aim is to maintain a 75-85% success rate in reducing recidivism among these young adults.
The Juvenile Diversion Program is a cooperative effort of the Three Fires Council of the Boy Scouts of America, DuPage County Probation Department and the DuPage County Bar Association. DCBA members have a long histroy of service as the adult leaders that have been essential to the successful operation of this program.
The following volunteers are needed:
- Volunteer Group Leaders/Mentors - assigned to a "group" and mentor the youth throughout the program, attend life skill building sessions and assist in tracking progress.
- Program Development - Someone with experience in youth programs to help develop and maintain materials.
- Volunteer Coordinator - Someone who can help new volunteers and assist us in finding new speakers for the program.
- Promotions/Public Relations -Someone who can help promote the program and recruit new referral sources for the program - police and probation departments, schools.
- Website Coordinator - will help develop and maintain a Diversion Website.
- Fundraising - Assistance in event and overall fundraising efforts.
