Volunteers Needed for Law Day!
Month of April-Lawyer Outreach
Middle and High Schools are invited to participate in this valuable Law Day activity. An attorney is assigned to a school to come in to speak to students on the subjects of Law Day, law in gernal, careers in law, and/or on subjects agreed upon between the teacher and attorney. Date and time is arranged at mutual convenience between attorney and teacher. Times usually are Friday afternoon for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Saturday, April 28-"Ask a Lawyer" at the Bar Center:
Volunteers for the 2nd shift (10:45-12:30) and 3rd shift (12:30-2:00) This is a time the community calls in for free legal advice.
Friday, May 4-Mock Trial Presentations at the Courthouse
There are 12 teams of students (grades 6-12) coming to the courthouse to present a scripted trial to our volunteer judge. This is a great experience for both student and attorney.
If you would like to volunteer for any of these dates or have any questions please contact Liz Whitney.
