National High School Speech Competition Needs Volunteers
February 16, 2012
On March 5th-8th several hundred homeschool high school students will gather at the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois, for an exciting four day speech and debate tournament. Sponsored by the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association, the Illinois National Open is one of three 2012 national open competitions in which students from around the country have the opportunity to qualify directly to the National Championship Tournament in June . Students will compete in ten different speech events and two styles of debate events.
We are faced with the monumental task of finding over 600 judges to evaluate our competitors.
We need you! It's a 2 1/2 to 3-hour time commitment, which includes arriving at the hospitality room (where we will find delicious refreshments), a short orientation, the 1 1/2 hour round, and completing a ballot in the hospitality room afterwards.
To see the exact times we need judges, go to:
http://www.ncfcaregistration.com/NCFCAJudgeSelection.aspx?Region=6
Here you can select one or more rounds. Please note that the times listed are arrival times. Arriving at those times will allow for a brief orientation before the round starts. We have rounds starting in the early morning and going into the evening. Feel free to forward this email to friends and communities that will enjoy this opportunity- I am confidant that you'll find it very enjoyable.
Thank you for considering this request to participate in training the next generation; your contribution is invaluable!
