DCBA Hosts Mock Trial

Dear DCBA Members,
Once again, on February 17, 2012, the courthouse will fill up on a Friday afternoon with high school students for the Annual DuPage High School Mock Trial Competition.   This is a great opportunity for each of you to give back to the community by serving as competition evaluators.   We need even more evaluators this year, over prior years.   Your commitment is simple:  join us at 12 noon for lunch at the ARC and for orientation.   Then, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30/5:00 p.m., you will evaluate two competition trials, with two different schools per trial.  We will have 3 evaluators per room, with one evaluator serving as the trial judge.  

 

We will also need at least 5 judges (with one real judge presiding) for the final competition, which will take place around 6 p.m.   This is extra special because the kids will be "playing to a jury" if we have a lot of evaluators.  

 

If you can help out, and we hope you can, please email Sean McCumber at seanmccumber@gmail.com.   In your email, please indicate whether you will serve at the final round at 6:00 p.m.  He will contact you as the date draws nearer for preparation.
