 countries have long recognized "moral rights" that artists have in their w
 ork\, separate and apart from copyrights.  And beginning in the 1990s\, so
 me states and the federal government started recognizing such rights for i
 ndividuals\, adding another stick to the bundle.  Charles will discuss the
  development of moral rights\, how those rights have been incorporated int
 o American legal structures through statutes and case law\, and how they a
 ffect intellectual property and other practice areas.  He will also discus
 s various Illinois statutes related to artists' rights\, including the Ill
 inois Consignment of Art Act (820 ILCS 320).\nBio:  Charles is a sole prac
 titioner in Glen Ellyn.  He opened his office three years ago after leavin
 g Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago where he was a litigation associate.  Af
 ter graduating from the SJ Quinney College of Law at the University of Uta
 h\, he clerked for Chief Justice John Broderick of the New Hampshire Supre
 me Court.  His practice focuses on commercial and real property litigation
  and appellate work.
