The 18th Judicial Circuit is accepting applications for two Conflict Attorneys for appointment to represent abused, neglected, dependent or delinquent minors or family members where the Public Defender cannot represent a particular party.  The Conflict Attorney is responsible for coverage of juvenile courtrooms on a schedule agreed upon with the juvenile court judges.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois
  • Malpractice insurance coverage
  • Knowledgeable in juvenile law and procedure
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in representing clients in juvenile matters
  • Flexibility to accommodate court scheduling
  • Willingness to serve all clients regardless of the number of appointments or complexity of the matters

Term of the contract will be two years, effective March 1, 2012 through February 28, 2014.

Compensation will be fixed at an annual fee of $40,000 paid in monthly payments upon presentation of an invoice.
